Skal recently closed its 74th World Congress aboard the Carnival Glory, the first time this yearly event took place on a cruise ship. This year, the Kinondo Kwetu Trust in Kenya won an award in the category of Rural Accommodation. Kinondo Kwetu is situated in an area where the average income is among the lowest in Kenya. When the hotel started its operation there was no basic health care within reach for the people in the Kinondo village, and the local primary school was in great need of reparation and funding for teacher salaries.
