NEW DELHI, May 10 (Xinhua) Anti-epidemic supplies including 100 oxygen concentrators and 40 ventilators donated by the Red Cross Society of China (RCSC) arrived in India on Sunday, Chinese Ambassador to India Sun Weidong said in a tweet.
The shipment by a Chinese cargo flight from China s southwestern city of Chengdu was the first batch of anti-epidemic supplies donated by the RCSC to India, according to the ambassador.
The road safety partnership is a hosted programme within the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies and is based in Geneva. It focuses on the reduction of road death and injury, especially in low and middle-income countries. NZTA figures showed that between 2010 and 2019, 16 people were killed in crashes on SH5 and another 75 people were seriously injured.
Hastings mayor Sandra Hazlehurst said since 2014, there had been more than 250 crashes reported between Eskdale and Tarawera, ranging from fatalities to non-injury. Cliff said the only roads capable of safely operating at 100kph were median-divided motorways, designed with barriers to prevent vehicles crossing to the wrong side of the road.
Together we are #unstoppable
PNG, 8 May 2021 – Today, we are celebrating World Red Cross and Red Crescent Day, a day dedicated to recognising the impact of Red Cross staff and volunteers.
This year the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement is recognising the role staff and volunteers have played in reaching and supporting people affected by COVID-19, especially in places of detention, remote parts of PNG and hospitals in the 20 provinces where the PNGRCS volunteers are actively working and committed to giving support to local communities in an unstoppable manner.
In PNG, alongside the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, Red Cross staff and volunteers have been supporting local communities through awareness-raising on prevention measures and providing hygiene and sanitation assistance for communities.

The first 100,000 doses of the Sinopharm vaccine have been delivered to Georgia earlier last month, and the vaccination with the Chinese jab began on May 4, just several days before the WHOs official approval.
