The South Florida Mini Fair is now in its home stretch and will end this Sunday.
This year s mini-fair opened two weeks ago with COVID-19 safety protocols in place and fewer attractions than the traditional South Florida Fair held annually. We won t know our final attendance numbers until they are audited, but from what we ve seen, we are very pleased with the turnout, said Vicki Chouris, the fair s president and CEO. Our community, which includes our guests and vendors, responded with appreciation and cooperated fully with our mandatory face-covering policy.

WEST SPRINGFIELD At a time when The Big E normally gears up for late-winter trade and consumer shows campers, hunting and fishing, and home improvement the biggest event coming to the Eastern States Exposition grounds could be a COVID-19 mass vaccination site.
The sprawling 175-acre fairgrounds on Memorial Avenue a 104-year-old institution with 44 buildings is expensive to operate. Just cleaning up after a snowfall can cost up to $32,000.

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. The New Mexico State Fair once again has been recognized for excellence in the industry, both before and during the pandemic.
The International Association of Fairs and Expositions, and the Western Fairs Association recently honored the New Mexico State Fair with five First-Place awards and four Second-Place awards in a host of categories.
Among the awards presented were those for video at home activities, innovative use of technology in agriculture, virtual fairs, online competitions, virtual livestock auctions and sales, and state fair wellness drives for vaccines, blood drives and food distribution.
