Finance professors receive innovative teaching award Related
Peter Bossaerts and Nitin Yadav, professors at the University of Melbourne, Australia, received the 2020 FMA Innovation in Teaching Award.
The award, sponsored by the Association of International Certified Professional Accountants, the unified voice of the AICPA and CIMA, and given on behalf of the CGMA designation, was created to recognize inspiring educators, enhance the quality and relevance of education in finance, and help the profession share successful innovative practices. Bossaerts and Yadav received the first-place award for their robotics class, which educates students on how to design and deploy algorithmic traders in real financial markets.

Tom Hood, the longtime CEO of the Maryland Association of CPAs, has joined the leadership team of the Association of International Certified Professional Accountants (the Association). As executive vice president of business growth and engagement, Hood will report to Barry Melancon, CPA, CGMA, the Associationâs CEO.
Hood has served as CEO of the Maryland Association of CPAs (MACPA) since 1997. Prior to MACPA, Hood, CPA/CITP, CGMA, worked as a chief financial officer. He has been a longtime thought leader and driver of change among state CPA societies.

Association of International Certified Professional Accountants appoints executive vice president

The Association of International Certified Professional Accountants (the Association) has appointed Tom Hood its executive vice president, business growth and engagement. He will report to Association CEO Barry Melancon.
Hood’s responsibilities will be to engage with businesses, their leaders, and their global networks and use the insight he gains to support the profession and the Association to grow its understanding of their challenges.
Another focus of Hood’s role will be partnering with the Association’s chief executive of management accounting Andrew Harding, to further professionalise management accounting and support professionals in obtaining their Chartered Global Management Credential in the Americas.
