Pak PM Imran Khan to use Indian air space for travel to Sri Lanka

Story highlights After India removed special status for Jammu and Kashmir, Pakistan had denied permission for overflight for President Kovind s plane one time, and PM Modi s plane twice Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan will be using the Indian air space to travel to Sri Lanka. He will be on a two-day visit to the country from today his second visit that comes months after his visit to Afghanistan.  Pakistan had requested for use of air space, for which India granted permission. As a protocol, whenever heads of state or governments pass through the air space of any other country, the country is alerted and due permission is taken.

Zambia’s Permanent Representative at the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Council has been elected as Second Vice President of the body. Vincent Banda was unanimously elected taking over from Samuel Lucas, the Permanent Representative of Australia on the Council who Scooped the position of First Vice President. The position of First Vice President fell vacant after the resignation of Ambassador Ainchil Gustavo Eduardo Permanent Representative of Argentina on the Council following his transfer to Austria as Ambassador. Mauricio Koppel the Permanent Representative of Colombia was elected Third Vice President, the position previously held by Mr. Banda. The International Civil Aviation Organization is a United Nations (UN) specialized Agency established by States in 1944 to manage the administration and governance of the Convention on International Civil Aviation (Chicago Convention).
