International Floorball Federation surveys fans on environmental issues Wednesday, 17 February 2021 The International Floorball Federation (IFF) has carried out a fan survey on environmental issues to see if the governing body s work is in line with the views of the sport s community. A total of 385 people responded with most of these coming from floorball powerhouses Sweden, Finland, Czech Republic and Switzerland. Seventy-five per cent of the responders strongly agreed that the IFF and the floorball community s commitment to environmental issues will help to improve the image of the sport. Eight-four per cent strongly agreed that the IFF should sell environmentally friendly merchandise and 88 per cent said the governing body should communicate what measures floorball fans need to work on in their daily lives.

Italian qualifier for Women’s World Floorball Championships 2021 gets new dates Tuesday, 2 February 2021 The Italian qualification tournament for the Women’s World Floorball Championships 2021 has been confirmed on new dates. The event is now due to take place in Lignano Sabbiadoro from May 25 to 29, the International Floorball Federation (IFF) announced.  The qualification event in Italy was originally scheduled for this month but continuing COVID-19 restrictions caused its postponement. In order for these dates to have been confirmed a change in the EUR2 group in Italy and the EUR1 group in Latvia has been made, with Germany going to Italy and Norway to Latvia.

IFF confirm teams for Men s Under-19 World Floorball Championships

Monday, 18 January 2021 International Floorball Federation (IFF) has confirmed the participants for the Men’s Under-19 World Floorball Championships, after the governing body were forced to cancel remaining qualification events due to coronavirus. The IFF said the cancellations followed months of discussions with the organisers and participating teams, including several postponements. It is very disappointing that the COVID-19 situation continues to prevent us from holding international events, said Sarah Mitchell, IFF event manager. For the IFF Member Associations, the logistics of international travel at this time, especially with junior players, is too great, and the focus for most countries is on re-establishing their national competitions, which the IFF fully supports.

TT floorball team set to compete at 2022 Games

TT floorball team set to compete at 2022 Games Caribbean coaches and players who participated in the International Floorball Federation workshop in Jamaica last year. - THE Special Olympics TT (SOTT) is presently preparing a floorball team for the 2022 Special Olympics World Winter Games in Kazan, Russia. This is the first time TT would be competing in this discipline, having previously featured in floor hockey at the past six editions. Floorball is a versatile indoor team sport played in a rink with five field players plus a goalkeeper in each team. It’s played with plastic sticks and a light ball and with a goalkeeper without a stick.
