BLUEWATER – A motion setting council remuneration rates for the 2021-22 fiscal year was passed during the April 6 regular council meeting.
The motion sets the annual honorarium rate for the mayor at $12,081.00, the deputy mayor at $8,036.68 and ward councillors at $7,363.08. It also establishes a $222.96 full-day per diem and $142.16 half-day per diem for attending meetings including municipal meetings, local board meetings and committee meetings.

The honorarium paid to council members is increased annually to adjust for cost of living.
