International Workers Memorial Day takes on extra poignancy in Bolton

International Workers Memorial Day 2021 A MINUTE S silence was held in Victoria Square at 11am today to mark International Workers Memorial Day, which took on extra poignancy this year. A social distanced service was organised by Unison and this year the key workers who had lost their lives while caring for others during the pandemic were very much in the thoughts of those gathered. The flag at the town hall was lowered in tribute to those who have died. Representatives from Bolton NHS Foundation Trust, which runs Royal Bolton Hospital, where among those paying their respects. They lit rainbow candles following the silence in memory of those they have lost.

International Workers Memorial Day a time for remembrance

Today marks International Workers Memorial Day. Covid: Expert calls for occupational health body to tackle workplace health failings

COVID has exposed UK failures on health and safety at work – and now a leading expert has called for an independent occupational health body to be established for Scotland.
