The U.S. wants to slash its CO2 emissions by 50 percent in 2030 compared to those emitted in 2005. Biden’s announcement followed the cancellation on his first day in office of a pipeline that would have shipped 830,000 barrels per day of oil from Alberta, Canada, to Nebraska.

Bandits Kidnap Christian Evangelists in Nigeria

Bos, Chief International Correspondent Worthy News ABUJA, NIGERIA (BosNewsLife) – Bandits have reportedly abducted eight Christian evangelists in Nigeria’s northern Kaduna State amid an Islamic campaign of targeted kidnappings, Christians said. The Christians were kidnapped after their minibus was stopped driving from Kaduna city to Kafanchan on March 26, Christians and Nigerian media said. The minibus – with on its side “Redeemed Christian Church of God” – was reportedly held up at around 7 p.m. local time, about 39 miles (63 kilometers) from Kaduna city. The Christians, all adults, were traveling to Kafanchan on an evangelistic mission, local media said. Alao Joseph, a spokesman of the church in Kaduna, said there was “hope” that police “will help secure the immediate rescue of the church members.” Joseph told reporters that the kidnappers asked the church for some $125,000 in local currency.

Agency Urges Prayers As Hundreds Die In Myanmar Coup

Bos, Chief International Correspondent Worthy News YANGON, MYANMAR (BosNewsLife)– One of Asia’s leading humanitarian agencies urged Christians Thursday to pray for Myanmar’s “suffering people” after hundreds died in the South Asia nation’s military coup. Gospel for Asia (GFA World) cited reports that some 114 people including children were killed since last weekend across the country. It brings the death toll to more than 400 since the February 1 coup when the army seized control of Myanmar, also known as Burma, Christians said. Most of those killed participated in pro-democracy protests. Several Christians were also killed in airstrikes by the Buddhist-majority army on villages in the country‘s Karen State, Christians told BosNewsLife
