May 14 : Vijay Varma has bagged the award for Best Actor in a Negative Role for his brilliant performance in She at the E4M Play Awards, 2021. Directed by Imtiaz Ali, Vijay played the role of Sasya, a narcotic kingpin, and proved his talent as an actor yet again. It was the actor’s first-ever award for the Netflix original series.
The crime drama She is created and written by Imtiaz Ali and Divya Johry. Directed by Arif Ali and Avinash Das under production house Window Seat Films, the series stars Aaditi Pohankar, Vijay Varma and Kishore. It follows the story of a female constable who goes undercover to bust an underworld gang. She premiered on Netflix on March 20, 2020.

Filmmaker Don Palathara has revealed that he has made a new film titled Everything Is Cinema. It is set to have its world premiere at the prestigious International Film Festival of Rotterdam in June, as part of the Cinema Regained category.
The film, which was shot partially during the first phase of lockdown in India, features Sherin Catherine in the only visible role of a Malayalam actress named Anita.
Described as a hybrid of mockumentary and relationship drama, Everything Is Cinema employs some footage of Kolkata that Don had captured a few years earlier.

The experimental short won a Tiger Award at the prestigious International Film Festival of Rotterdam in 2017. Basu will return to Rotterdam in June with his enchanting new documentary

Bela was premiered at the Swiss festival Visions Du Reel (April 15-25). The title derives both from the village in Bengal where the dancers live and from the Bengali word for time, which the film explores in imaginative ways.
