STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. Eligible New Yorkers will start receiving extended and expanded federal unemployment benefits beginning this week.
On Tuesday, Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced that federal unemployment benefits have been extended for 11 weeks and that the New York Department of Labor (DOL) is prepared to begin issuing payments as soon as legally permissible under federal law.
