During the ongoing modernization of Russia’s Armed Forces, increasing attention has turned to developing and exploiting unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) and unmanned combat aerial vehicles (UCAV). In Russian military exercises and over battlefield in Ukraine and Syria, the overwhelming use of UAVs has focused on reconnaissance to enable improved target acquisition. Nevertheless, efforts are now underway to produce heavy-strike UAVs and UCAVs. One such heavy-strike-capable UCAV is the experimental S-70 Okhotnik (Hunter). And earlier, during the 2019 International Defense Exhibition and Conference (IDEX), in Abu Dhabi, the Kalashnikov Concern (part of Rostec) presented a model of an improved high-precision-attack Kub UAV, designed by the Izhevsk-based Zala Aero (see EDM, February 20, 2019 and November 13, 2020).

Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ajman, has expressed his delight to remember the historic and strategic decision of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and his brothers, Their Highnesses the Sheikhs and Members of the Supreme Council of the Union and Rulers of the Emirates, in May 1976 to unify the Armed Forces under one flag and one central leadership, the General Command of the Armed Forces.

UAE successfully keeps a lid on virus cases
04 May 2021 Amid abnormal times, the UAE has already made headway in ensuring a normal life for everyone as soon as possible.
The UAE has strived to keep a lid on the spiral in coronavirus cases and deaths. Compared to countries such as Brazil, with over 14 million cases and 400,000 deaths, or India, which has seen 20 million cases so far, the UAE has managed to stick to a much lower figure. The total number of recorded cases in the UAE are 525,567.
Under this framework, the UAE has become a successful model of adapting to the “new reality,” by implementing procedures. Amid abnormal times, it wants to – and has already made headway in this regard – to ensure a normal life for everyone as soon as possible. Pinnacle Solutions, Inc. delivered the Block 1 Upgrade to its first UH-60M Virtual Maintenance Trainer (VMT) to Global Aerospace Logistics, LLC (GAL) in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). In late February 2021, a team from Pinnacle visited the customer site for the second time to install the UH-60 VMT software upgrade offering additional work packages to expand the maintenance trainer software installed last year to more aircraft systems.
The full classroom suite (Block 0) was delivered to GAL, a leading regional provider of integrated aircraft sustainment solutions for military and civilian customers in Abu Dhabi, on 15 March 2020 to assist the UAE with training Black Hawk maintainers. A total package delivery included on-site testing, Train-the-Trainer course of instruction, an initial 12-month warranty followed by optional long-term maintenance support for both software and hardware.
