The Minister of State for Petroleum, Timipre Sylva, has said that soon major International Smart Phone Industries would establish their Assembling plants in Nigeria, as part of an agreement reached to boost Local Content Development.
The Minister spoke during the training of 1000 youths on GSM Phone Repairs, Maintenance, Software and Hardware Specialization organised by the Nigeria Content Development and Monitoring Board and the House of Representatives member representing Nasarawa Federal constituency, Nasiru Ali Ahmad.
Timipre Sylva said the training is an effort by the Ministry of Petroleum Resources to develop local content with youths taking the centre stage.
The added that Nigeria has the highest GSM market in the whole of Africa, noting that GSM is not luxury but an essential commodity, hence, the training.
