Abbey Road Studios launches International Women’s Day Festival

Abbey Road Studios has announced a programme of masterclasses and mentorship sessions to coincide with International Women’s Day and address the gender imbalance that exists in the industry.
The Equalise programme is intended to highlight the fact that less than five per cent of music producers and engineers are women. Running from March 1-8 (International Women’s Day is March 8), the programme pledges to provide the tools, knowledge and support to inspire and empower more women to join the industry.
As part of the initiative, a raft of leading producers and engineers will be taking part in masterclass, panel sessions and one-to-one mentoring opportunities throughout the week. In 2021, Women@Work will continue to offer Capital Region women access to virtual networking, education and mentoring programs designed to spark and support professional and personal development. Until recently, these digital events have been made available to the public. Going forward, participation in these forums is now exclusive to Women@Work members. Members who register will be sent a link the day before the event.
