DAYTONA BEACH, Florida - As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to alter every day life for many, a number of avid bikers are refusing to let the health crisis put a damper on Daytona Beach s Bike Week event.
A recent CNN report stated that the rally, which is currently underway, is expected to draw more than 300,000 people over its 10-day long schedule of events.
Daytona Beach s Bike Week kicked off last Friday (March 5) and ends Sunday; the event includes concerts, races and bike shows.

DAYTONA BEACH Late one Saturday night a few weeks ago, a vicious wind and rain storm tore through the city s core.
When the sun came up the next morning, a two-story building that had stood on Mary McLeod Bethune Boulevard for 100 years was taking its last breaths. Part of the roof was collapsing and pushing out a wall. The large sign hanging off the front of the building was tilting precariously, and owners Warren and City Commissioner Ruth Trager were afraid it could crash onto the sidewalk.
In a panic they decided to have the terracotta brick building demolished. Less than a week later not a trace of the early 1920s structure remained.
