Russian Olympic Committee flag expected to be used at IIHF World Championships Tuesday, 16 March 2021 The International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) anthem is expected to be used in lieu of the Russian national anthem at IIHF World Championships this year, with teams to play under the Russian Olympic Committee flag. Russia s flag and anthem will be banned at both the Men s World Championship in Latvia and Women s World Championship in Canada under World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) sanctions partly upheld by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS). TASS, Russia s state-run news agency, reports that teams will be able to play under the Russian Olympic Committee flag and that the IIHF anthem will be used.
