How many students left Savannah-Chatham schools for private schools during the pandemic?
The Savannah Morning News looked at how many students left the school system to attend private or other public schools over COVID, virtual issues.

In any experiment three things can happen: the hypothesis can be proven true; the hypothesis can be proven false; or the results can be inconclusive.
The results of the success of the sudden shift to virtual learning in March 2020 possibly did all three depending on a mix of variables, according to parents and school officials who spoke with the Savannah Morning News.

WALTERBORO, S.C. (AP) There s a new leader in place for a South Carolina school district.
The Colleton County School Board announced Thursday the district s Board of Trustees voted unanimously to hire Dr. Vallerie Cave as its next superintendent, WCBD-TV reported.
Cave will replace Dr. Franklin Foster, who resigned in February 2020.
According to the district, Cave has over30 years of education experience and has degrees from Baptist College, the University of South Carolina and Walden University. She has worked as a teacher, principal and in multiple director-level positions in districts across South Carolina and Georgia.
Georgia offered Pfizer COVID vaccines to ages 12-15 on Tuesday, after the Food and Drug Administration authorized its emergency use for this age group.
While the Class of 2021 is looking forward to graduation ceremonies within the next two weeks, Savannah-Chatham County Public Schools district officials are forging ahead with plans for next school year.
One word missing from the conversation: hybrid. Students are going to be in the classroom five days a week starting on Aug. 4. Virtual will still be an option, but only a limited one.
Plans have been in the works for the past few months for a full-time five-day-a-week school schedule for all students starting Aug. 4. At the April school board meeting, District Superintendent Ann Levett floated the idea of possibly phasing in the students return; but at yesterday s school board meeting, she indicated all students will return on Aug. 4.
