Cairo: Saudi Arabia has launched a large-scale project aimed to offer iftar food to more than 80,000 families in India, the Saudi media reported.
The programme, launched by the Saudi Ministry of Islamic Affairs and Call, covers different parts of India, offering food boxes delivered in line with health protocols to curb the spread of COVID-19.
The project titled the “Iftar Programme of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques” is supported and overseen by Saudi Minister of Islamic Affairs and Call Abdulatif Bin Abdulaziz and is supervised by Saudi Ambassador Saud Al Sati, according to Religious Attache at the Saudi embassy in New Delhi, Badr Al Enazi.

MAKKAH: Hima Well, one of the most ancient and significant stops along the ancient trade routes of Arabia, untouched and unaltered, continues to fascinate researchers and archaeologists.
The site, about 140 km north of the city of Najran, is well preserved, and with its largely intact rock art depicting humans, animals, hunting tools, bows and spears and more, shows a picture of what was once an ancient route for caravans traveling from the southern regions of the Arabian Peninsula to its north.

JEDDAH: Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Health (MoH) said it has postponed second dose appointments for coronavirus disease (COVID-19) vaccines in order to ensure more of the Kingdom’s residents can receive their first dose.
According to the MoH, all second dose reservations will be rescheduled as of Sunday April 11 and will resume at a later time. The ministry added that due to a global shortage in vaccine manufacturing and delivery, they’ve provided more room for first timers, especially those in high risk categories, to receive theirs.

Decision comes as part of measures to prevent the outbreak of the Covid-19.
The Saudi Ministry of Islamic Affairs has ordered the suspension of Iftar and Suhur meals inside mosques or their facilities, as well as the suspension of I tikaaf during the Holy month of Ramadan throughout the Kingdom.
The decision comes as part of the preventive measures to stop the spread of coronavirus.
The ministry also ordered the inclusion of prayer places, and mosques where Friday prayers are held, for Eid Al-Fitr prayers.
The directive also stated that matters related to the of Tarawih prayers and night prayers in mosques will be announced later.
