Also known as Eid al-Fitr, celebrations will mark the end of Ramadan’s fasting and the start of a new month, Shawwal. Many of the usual festivities, including large indoor gatherings with extended family and friend, for example, are still not possible this year as the UK strives to minimise the spread of the virus.

Saudi King Salman and the Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman on Wednesday registered themselves as donors in a new extension of the Saudi Centre for Organ Transplantation programme.
King Salman, Prince Mohammed and deputy minister of defence Prince Khalid bin Salman have registered with the organ donation programme to encourage the public to follow and contribute to saving lives.
All citizens and residents are eligible to register for the lists of donors using an online link.
