Hidrostank deploys innovative solutions at Saudi wind farm DUBAI, 6 hours, 52 minutes ago Hidrostank, a leading Spanish company supplying building materials for civil works, said it had recently delivered innovative modular pullboxes for the Dumat Al Jandal wind farm, a first-of-its kind facility in Saudi Arabia.   A specialist in providing innovative solutions to boost the performance of construction, Hidrostank said on completion, Dumat Al Jandal is set to become the largest in the Middle East.   The Spanish group said it had achieved a key construction milestone with the arrival of 20 wind turbines at the port of Duba.   The 400 MW wind power project is being developed by a consortium of EDF Renewables and Masdar.

Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF) holds a 50% stake in ACWA Power. ACWA Power is leading the development for Sudair Solar PV project alongside PIF portfolio company Water and Electricity Holding Company (Badeel). Badeel is 100% owned by PIF. In addition, PV project owners signed a power purchase agreement with the Saudi Power Procurement Company for 25 years. The 1.5 gigawatt Sudair Solar PV project is set to become one of the world’s largest Solar PV plants by capacity and touches on a goal for having Saudi Arabia to run more on renewable energy internally. With an investment value of approximately SAR 3.4 billion (US$ 907 million), Sudair PV IPP will be capable of powering 185,000 homes and offsetting nearly 2.9 million tons of emissions per year.

Saudi solar plant locks in new record low price for power: 1 04c/kWh

13 April 2021 Saudi Arabia looks to have notched up a new record-low price for large-scale solar power, with one of seven projects recently signed up to power purchase agreements contracted to sell electricity for just over $US10 per megawatt-hour ($A13/MWh). According to local press, Saudi Arabia’s energy minister Prince Abdulaziz Bin Salman announced the new record on Thursday last week at the inauguration of the 300MW Sakaka solar power plant in Al-Jouf, the kingdom’s first renewables project. At the plant’s launch, Prince Abdulaziz announced that PPAs for seven other renewable projects across a range of regions had also been signed between the Saudi Power Procurement Company and five investment consortiums made up of 12 unnamed Saudi and international companies.

Advertisement The Public Investment Fund (PIF) has announced a major milestone in its renewable energy programme with the launch of the Sudair Solar PV plant in Sudair Industrial City, Saudi Arabia, with a PIF-backed consortium signing a power purchase agreement (PPA) with the Saudi Power Procurement Company for 25 years. The announcement came during the inauguration ceremony of the Sakaka solar PV plant, also located in Saudi Arabia, under the patronage of HRH Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister, Chairman of the Supreme Committee for Energy Mix Affairs for Electricity Production and Enabling Renewable Energy Sector. The ceremony was attended by HRH Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Minister of Energy, and HRH Prince Faisal bin Nawwaf bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Governor of Al-Jouf Region.
