Houma woman returns home to provide resources for aspiring entrepreneurs

Aronda Smith-Benson is an alumna of Terrebonne High, business owner, consultant, coach, combat veteran and Ivy League graduate. She has returned to her her hometown of Houma to start her latest project, Legacy Business Center. The center, in Southland Mall, provides affordable workspaces and personalized consulting services to help grow local start-ups and early-stage businesses. “After 20 years in Philadelphia, I’ve accomplished a lot as a business leader and I wanted to bring all of that knowledge and expertise back home,” Smith-Benson said. “As a Houma native, my plan is to invest in our local economy by focusing primarily on business development for entrepreneurs, start-ups and small businesses.”

Mar 5, 2021 9:17 AM The Saskatchewan Health Authority says there have been several active outbreaks of COVID-19 in the province this week. On Thursday, Green Line Manufacturing in Saskatoon was identified; also that day, Creative Wood Interiors in Osler. The Town Office in Osler was identified on Tuesday. On Monday, an outbreak was declared at KFC in Meadow Lake, and then 2 days later, at a McDonald’s in that community. In Lloydminster on Monday, the declaration was made concerning Bea Fisher Aboriginal Affairs Program. In Glaslyn, Holy Cross Church was identified on Wednesday. Three places were pointed out in Regina: on Tuesday – Mark’s in Southland Mall and TD Canada Trust on Prince of Wales Drive; also, Regina General Hospital, Mother and Baby Unit on Thursday.
