Regina Police make arrest in child porn investigation

By Ryan McNally (Photo: Moises Canales/620 CKRM) A Regina man is facing child pornography charges after a police investigation over the weekend. On Sunday morning, just after 3:00 AM, Police were dispatched to the city’s north west for a report of pornographic images of a child found on a phone. The investigation led police to a residence on Gore Place where the alleged owner of the phone was located, and police were able to gather more evidence from the residence before the suspect was taken into custody. The Saskatchewan Internet Child Exploitation Unit (ICE) assisted in the investigation. 28-year-old Marty Dick of Regina is charged with possession of child porn and accessing child porn.

On May 27 members of the ICE Unit executed a search warrant at a residence in Moosomin that was identified as the location where the offences were occurring. Electronic items were located and found to contain child pornography and evidence of the offences.  Knutilla was released from custody and placed on numerous conditions by a Justice of the Peace and will next be appearing in Moosomin Circuit Court on July 20. The Saskatchewan ICE Unit is comprised of investigators from the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, Regina Police Service, Saskatoon Police Service, and Prince Albert Police Service. Their mandate is to investigate crimes involving the abuse and/or exploitation of children on the Internet.

(Herald file photo) Charges have been laid against a Prince Albert man who is accused of accessing child porn through social media. The Saskatchewan Internet Child Exploitation Unit (ICE) announced the charges Wednesday. The investigation began on Dec. 29. A search warrant was executed at a Prince Albert residence Wednesday that police say was the location where the offences occurred. According to a press release, child pornography was located and several electronic items were seized. Ryan Clark-McDonald, 20, was arrested at the scene and has been charged with possessing child pornography and making child pornography available. He was due for a first court appearance on April 29.
