Saskatoon / 650 CKOM Jul 21, 2021 | 3:56 PM Battleford RCMP officers are recovering from a busy six-day stretch during which the detachment received more than 500 calls for service. The 524 calls included 18 assault investigations, 10 missing persons reported, eight break and enter investigations and six vehicle thefts. The calls occurred between July 14 and 20, 2021. On the afternoon of July 17, a woman found her previously reported stolen vehicle on a grid road on the east edge of North Battleford. She was assaulted while trying to retrieve her keys and reported being stabbed by an unknown weapon by the individual who was in possession of her stolen car. The suspect fled with the woman’s car, which was later found by police and the suspect, a 33-year-old woman, has been taken into custody. She has been charged with assault with a weapon and is in violation of a conditional sentence order.
