It’s November, and the Toronto Blue Jays are finished. The Canadian Football League is nearing its Grey Cup finale. It is finally time to focus on hockey, whether it’s your favourite NHL team, or the local Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League’s Yorkton Terriers. For those nights when your teams are not playing, and you can’t stand watching two American franchise’s such as Pittsburgh playing the New York Rangers on a Canadian sports network, I’ll off a few hockey-themed games this month to try out. Barring things going completely off the rails in the next 48 hours, the 2021 edition of the World Juniors will get underway on Christmas Day.
There will be some slight changes, as is the norm in the COVID-19 world, with Edmonton’s Rogers Place hosting all round-robin games instead of the tournament being split between Alberta’s capital and Red Deer.
Also, there will not be any promotion or relegation this year, which means all 10 teams in this year’s event will be returning to Alberta next winter for the tournament.
When it comes to the talent on display, several countries have benefited from the delayed start of the National Hockey League season as they’ve been able to add players that would more than likely be halfway through their pro campaigns had things been normal.
Broncos acquire defenseman from Warriors

The Swift Current Broncos added some size and experience to their blueline on Thursday when they acquired Cayde Augustine from the Moose Jaw Warriors.
The 6’2’’, 220-pound defenseman split time with the Kelowna Rockets and Warriors last season, finishing with two goals and eight assists in 38 games.
The Broncos sent a conditional 2022 eighth-round draft pick to Moose Jaw in return.
The undrafted Airdrie, AB product has four goals and 12 assists in 86 Western Hockey League games.
He suited up for two games with the Kindersley Klippers in the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League this year before the season was put on hold due to COVID-19.
