The morning of Wednesday, Dec. 23, the body of 36-year-old Desrik S. Blakes was found on the side of North 21st Street. He had been shot multiple times, police said. The prior night at about 9 p.m., residents in the area of North 21st and Chambers streets heard gunshots in the area, but no witnesses called 911, police said.
