SAN DIEGO A judge Wednesday denied former San Diego Mayor Kevin Faulconer s request to be labeled as the city s retired mayor on the ballot in this year s gubernatorial recall election.
Secretary of State Shirley Weber s court filings argue that Faulconer was termed out as San Diego s mayor and thus did not voluntarily retire from the office.

Larry Elder is in, because a new tax return requirement is out.
The conservative talk radio host will appear on the ballot as a candidate to replace Gov. Gavin Newsom in the Sept. 14 recall election, a judge ruled today as she determined that a state law requiring that candidates submit five years of tax returns does not apply to recalls.

Last week, Salem Radio Host Larry Elder made it official that he was running to challenge Gov. Gavin Newsom (D-CA) in the California recall election slated for September 14. Not long after, however, the California Secretary of State said he didn t qualify to be on the ballot. After saying he would sue over these shenanigans, Elder delivered on that promise and a judge on Wednesday ruled in his favor, Jeremy B. White reported for POLITICO.

At issue were the tax filings Elder had submitted to California elections officials in his bid to replace Gov. Gavin Newsom. Secretary of State Shirley Weber’s office said the documents Elder shared were improperly redacted. Elder went to court to fight back, and his case landed in front of Sacramento Superior Court Judge Laurie Earl just hours before Weber was set to certify the final list of candidates.

Blackwell alleges that Ma, a Democrat, exposed her backside while the two shared a hotel room which made her uncomfortable to the point where she was fearful to comment on Ms. Ma’s lewd behavior.
The complaint also alleges that Ma gave Blackwell jewelry, art, and edible marijuana as gifts and the two women frequently dined together along with Ma’s chief of staff. To set the record straight, we have repeatedly refused to respond to the attorney’s attempts to settle. We look forward to bringing the truth to light in court.

California governor hopefuls Kevin Faulconer and Larry Elder filed lawsuits against Secretary of State Shirley Weber as the recall election nears.
Kevin Faulconer sued Shirley Weber after the California Secretary of State blocked the use of his preferred ballot designation in Governor Gavin Newsom s recall election on September 14.
Faulconer s legal team alleged that Weber s office unlawfully rejected his request to be referred to as retired San Diego mayor, Fox News reported.
They asked a superior court judge to overturn the California Secretary of State s decision before her office sends the certified candidates list to county elections officials on Wednesday.
