With the Federal Drug Administration greenlighting the Pfizer vaccine for kids ages 12 to 15, more parents now have to decide whether or not to get their children vaccinated.
Jennifer Wright, from Manteca, got vaccinated about a month ago because she was afraid of contracting COVID-19 and passing it to here 66-year old mother. It wasn t too bad. Doesn t sound pleasant, but it wasn t terrible, Wright said.

The California State Fair will be postponed this year as Cal Expo has been requested to continue running as a mass vaccination site through the end of September.
For months now, thousands of people have been inoculated each day at the Sacramento site. Cal Expo hosts two mass vaccination locations one managed by the Sacramento County Public Health Department, the other by Kaiser Permanente making it one of the largest vaccination sites in the state.
Cal Expo s board of directors will discuss the possibility of a slimmed down version of the state fair, which typically opens in July. Officials say their focus remains on helping Gov. Gavin Newsom in reaching the goal of reopening the state which includes reopening events.

Since COVID-19 vaccines were made available to the public, Cal Expo has operated and hosted two mass vaccination locations. One was managed by the Sacramento County Public Health department and the other was managed by Kaiser Permanente, officials said. There is definitely a light at the end of the tunnel, and I am proud that Cal Expo has been able to play such an important role during this difficult time, Cal Expo CEO Rick Pickering said. It s imperative that everyone gets vaccinated so that we can once again safely host the many events our commun
