A Northern California police department arrested two of its own in as many days this week.
The Sacramento Police Department announced the arrests of the officers for separate allegations of domestic violence and filing false police reports.
Officer Justin David Shepard was arrested Friday, one day after his department said it was notified of a week-old domestic violence incident that left a victim with visible injuries in Natomas.
In a press release, the department said the incident occurred while Shepard was off-duty and that the victim wasn’t hospitalized. The department cited victim privacy in withholding additional details, but said Shepard, 30, was arrested on charges of felony domestic violence.

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – A Sacramento police officer was arrested for two counts of filing a false police report, the department announced on Thursday.
Officer Alexa Palubicki, 26, had been with the department for three years and was the subject of a months-long investigation. The Sacramento Police Department said in a news release that Palubicki had been placed on administrative leave as soon as details on her misconduct were received.
The department said that information was brought forward by other officers last July. The Sacramento County District Attorney’s Office said the charges relate to an incident that happened on July 11, 2020.

May 7 Sacramento police arrested one of their officers Thursday on two felony counts of filing a false police report, part of a massive internal investigation that began last July at a gas station near Discovery Park.
The police department said in a brief announcement Thursday afternoon that it had arrested Alexa Palubicki, 26, after being alerted to potential problems by other officers, and Sacramento County District Attorney Anne Marie Schubert s office filed two felony counts in the case late Thursday.
Alexa Palubicki, 26, was the subject of a months-long investigation.
She has been with the department for three years and was placed on administrative leave when the details on her misconduct were received, stated the department in a news release.
CBS13, Palubicki initially pulled over a Black man for illegal parking but later added in suspicion of a DUI for probable cause after consulting with her fiancé who is also a police officer. The issue of concern was the inconsistency between the initial SSD jail booking arrest report and the SPD crime report, said the report.
Information was brought forward by fellow officers last July and the Sacramento County District Attorney s Office said the charges are related to an incident that occurred on July 11, 2020.
