Twin Rivers (CA) Unified School District receives 10 additional LionC electric school buses
The Lion Electric Company (Lion), a manufacturer of purpose-built all-electric medium and heavy-duty urban vehicles, has delivered 10 battery-electric LionC school buses to the Twin Rivers Unified School District in Sacramento, California. With these new buses, Twin Rivers is now operating the largest zero-emission school bus fleet in North America, with 40 all-electric school buses in its fleet.

In his first major policy decision as San Diego’s new mayor, Todd Gloria late Friday announced he has rejected the bids recently submitted by San Diego Gas & Electric to retain the rights to deliver electric and gas services within San Diego’s city limits.
After reviewing SDG&E’s bids, Gloria said his office and the City Attorney’s Office have deemed the utility’s submissions to be “unresponsive,” that is, the bids did not meet the requirements the city stipulated when it solicited an Invitation To Bid to seek a new agreement.
Gloria said he’s turning down SDG&E’s offer that included paying the city $80 million upfront for the combined gas and electric franchises and canceling the current bidding process.

After months of speculation about who would bid on the right to provide gas and electric services within the city limits of San Diego, it turns out that San Diego Gas & Electric has submitted the only bid.
At the San Diego City Council chambers nearly empty because of COVID-19 restrictions the deputy director of the City Clerk’s office on Thursday morning opened the sealed envelopes containing prospective bids on a new franchise agreement.
But the drama was fleeting as SDG&E turned in the sole submissions. Among other conditions, the utility agreed to pay $70 million upfront for the rights to the electric franchise and $10 million for the gas franchise, each covering a term of 20 years.
