There were nine new COVID-19 positive cases – four males and five females – recorded on Wednesday, April 21, from the 365 tests carried out by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory.
Meanwhile, 12 people recovered from the viral illness. There are currently 84 persons in isolation.
Barbados’ confirmed cases of COVID-19 have moved to 3,806 (1,853 females and 1,953 males), and there have been 3,716 recoveries. Forty-four persons have died from the virus.
The public health laboratory has conducted 150,191 tests, since February 2020.
To date, 71,350 vaccinations have been administered – 29,471 men and 41,879 women. (BGIS)

Fourteen new cases (seven women and seven men) of coronavirus (COVID-19) were recorded on Thursday, April 22.
They were identified among the 813 tests carried out by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory.
Two people were also discharged. Currently, there are 86 people in isolation.
Since the start of the pandemic, Barbados has recorded 3 820 confirmed cases (1 860 women and 1 960 men) out of the 151 004 tests conducted.
Meanwhile, 3 718 people have recovered from the viral illness. Forty-four deaths have occurred.
Under the National Vaccination Programme for COVID-19, a total of 71 648 people – 29 633 men and 42 015 women – have been vaccinated.

THE VALLEY, Anguilla – Anguilla has implemented new measures to curb the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, virtually locking down the British Overseas territory as other Caribbean Community (CARICOM) countries registered cases of the virus over the past 24 hours.
A joint statement issued by the Governor, Dileeni Daniel-Selvaratnam, and Premier Dr. Ellis Webster. Noted that there has been speculation about the community spread of the virus on the island.
“It is of critical importance that we as the responsible authorities establish the facts to ensure appropriate measures and a proportionate response,” the said in the statement, acknowledging that up until April 20, the island had recorded 30 confirmed cases with one active imported case.
