PHOENIX – A March report by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention praised only two states for their efforts in getting vaccines to vulnerable communities. One of them was Arizona.
But while the federal report shows strong outreach at the broader county level, ZIP code data from the state health department reveals disparities with the vaccination rates in several neighborhoods where residents are predominantly people of color and more impoverished.

PHOENIX â As coronavirus vaccination sites continue to evolve, the state is continuing to service more and more Arizonans. The state has officially reached more than one million doses administered, the Arizona Department of Health Services announced Monday.
As of April 5, ADHS says more than 3.7 million doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in total in Arizona to more than 2.3 million individuals.
ADHS says 1,053,035 of those doses have been given at Arizonaâs five state-run sites, with nearly 700,000 of those taking place at the State Farm Stadium location alone.

SCOTTSDALE, AZ â A new state-run coronavirus vaccination site is opening later this month in Scottsdale.
Arizona Department of Health Services announced Monday that WestWorld exhibition center in Scottsdale would open as a vaccine site on April 22.
The site will be open from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily with the capacity to offer up to 10,000 appointments per day. They will begin with up to 4,000 appointments per day when they first open.
