CKHA Foundation 50/50 Fundraiser Returns | 99 1 FM CKXS

The Chatham-Kent Health Alliance Foundation is bringing back its popular 50/50 draw. Last year’s Ignite Healthcare fundraiser was a huge success, raising a total of $345,740 with the money divided between the hospital foundation and the winner, Emily Geroux of Highgate. So organizers are at it again, with proceeds from the 2021 draw going to support cardiac care at the Health Alliance and the purchase of new electrocardiograph machines for both sites in Wallaceburg and Chatham. “The Igniting Healthcare 50/50 provides a really exciting opportunity to raise funds for our hospital” says Mary Lou Crowley, President and CEO of the CKHA Foundation. “We have been so blessed to have such incredible support from our community – it really is the community who makes this campaign so successful.”

Marshall Named Lerners Healthcare Champion Award Winner | 99 1 FM CKXS

April 16, 2021 Quite a coup for the head of the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance. CEO Lori Marshall has been named one of the winners of the Lerners Healthcare Champions Awards, recognizing individual professionals or teams in southwestern Ontario that have gone above and beyond to help their community. The nomination says Marshall deserves the accolades for “her heroic work during the COVID-19 Pandemic. Lori worked to keep the public well informed, spearheaded testing centres and field hospitals, and worked with volunteer organizations to support those impacted financially by the pandemic.” The top five finalists will receive $5000 for their charity of choice – in Marshall’s case, that’s the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance Foundation to help purchase essential equipment for the hospitals in Chatham and Wallaceburg.
