The number of fatalities from Wednesday's mass shooting at a San Jose light rail maintenance yard has risen to nine after a victim who was hospitalized died overnight, the Santa Clara County Coroner's office said.

An employee carrying multiple guns opened fire in a mass shooting at a Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority light rail facility in San Jose Wednesday morning, killing eight victims and injuring several others. The incident was connected to a separate house fire in the city at around the same time of the shooting, according to officials.

Authorities have identified the names of the 8 people tragically killed in a mass shooting at the VTA light rail yard in San Jose Wednesday morning. In the aftermath of the shooting, Stanford Blood Center is seeking donors with Type O blood. Donors can make an appointment online or walk in to one of SBC’s three locations in Menlo Park, Mountain View and Campbell.
