The suspected shooter is also dead. The Santa Clara County Sheriff s Office says it believes the man took his own life.
âI can confirm with you that deputies did not exchange gunfire and right now weâre going to preliminarily go with the assumption that it was a self-inflicted gunshot wound from the suspect,â said Deputy Russell Davis during a briefing.

A shooting at a light rail yard near downtown San Jose left multiple people dead Wednesday morning.
In a press conference from San Jose, California Gov. Gavin Newsom called for gun control reform.
Newsom said he spoke with the families of potential victims who were making panicked phone calls to see if their loved ones are still alive. The heroism of those victims, the fact that they can even stand up and support one another, is remarkable, Newsom said.
He later took to Twitter to call on elected officials to pass gun control measures. Time to move past the stale rhetoric of thoughts & prayers & pass commonsense gun laws NATIONWIDE, he tweeted.
