At Least One Detained In Connection To Tesla Theft In Valencia
At least one individual was detained in relation to the theft of a vehicle Theft in Valencia Thursday afternoon.
Just after 3:30 p.m., reports were received of a stolen vehicle, a Tesla, at a charging station on Newhall Ranch Road near McBean Parkway, according to Sgt. Jepson with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.
“Deputies responded to a call reporting a stolen Tesla outside of (the Santa Clarita Valley),” Jepson said. “We located the vehicle at a charging station on Newhall Ranch Road.”
“At least one” person was detained in relation to the stolen vehicle, the station was able to confirm.
Saugus Structure Fire Quickly Knocked Down
A Saugus structure fire was quickly knocked down Thursday morning, officials said.

The fire was reported at about 11:15 a.m. Thursday on the 23000 block of Drayton Street, according to Leslie Lua, spokesperson for the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
Deputies with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station were urged to use caution due to a possible chlorine gas storage facility at the location.
Upon arrival, firefighters said there was a metal flat building with wires down in the area, according to Lua.
An exterior fire was found after an investigation from firefighters on scene, with knockdown of the blaze achieved just 15 minutes after being reported, Lua said.
Santa Clarita Mayor Bill Miranda Discusses What To Expect In 2021
Santa Clarita Mayor Bill Miranda joined KHTS on-air Tuesday morning to discuss what Santa Clarita residents can expect in the coming year, which includes three major projects and how the COVID-19 pandemic may impact them.
Miranda joined KHTS News Director Michael Brown live on-air Tuesday morning two weeks after being named the next mayor for the City of Santa Clarita for the year of 2021, becoming the first Latino to hold the position.
“I felt it right away,” Miranda said. “I don’t have any more legislative power than anybody else, I’m a council member, just like the other four council members. We’re all equal, but the mayor is the front, and (…) the face of the council, and has an obligation to lead and help influence the council in the direction that he or she may want it to go.”
Alert Employee Recognizes Stolen U-Haul, Suspect Arrested On Multiple Felonies
An alert employee at a Canyon Country U-Haul location recognized a truck as stolen, leading to the arrest of the suspect on multiple felonies, officials said.
On Thursday, Dec. 17 at about 8:30 p.m., deputies responded to the 27000 block of Sierra Highway, in Canyon Country for the report of a possible stolen U-Haul trailer, according to Sgt. Joel Nebel with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station Detective Bureau.
“An alert U-Haul employee recognized the trailer as being stolen and called the Sheriff’s,” Nebel said in an email.
Upon investigation, deputies learned the trailer had been reported stolen by the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) on Dec. 14, according to Nebel.
