A man shot by a Santa Cruz County Sheriff s deputy late Tuesday in Aptos is expected to survive his injuries.

When deputies tried to detain the driver, he fired at least one round at them.

2 people who stole some orange mountain bikes from a store in Capitola are being sought. Each “Specialized” brand Turbo Levo SL Bike is valued at about $10,000. They were said to have been taken from a store on 41st Avenue between Portola Drive and Bain Avenue. Anyone with information on these thefts is encouraged to contact the Capitola Police Department or the Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office.
