DEVOTED dad Ashley Couldrake rose to the challenge when he discovered the traditional Lions Club’s Santa Sleigh was not making an appearance for the children in his village. After finding out Santa was not making an appearance he set about making a sleigh at the 11th hour to make sure the children saw Father Christmas. Mr Couldrake said: It was a race against time to make an authentic sleigh and getting together a team to make sure Santa came to Dilton Marsh. Ashley, who is a leading member of the C Company military re-enactment group in Westbury, spent four days building and painting the sleigh to make sure the children were not denied the joys of seeing Santa in the village.

Spalding Lions bring some festive cheer to Donington with their Santa Sleigh Run

Festive cheer brought smiles to the faces of children and their families when Santa Claus came to town.
Following a gloomy 2020, Spalding Lions and their Santa Sleigh run has never been more important to help give communities in the villages around the area a big boost in the run-up to Christmas.
And it was much appreciated in Donington on Monday night when lots of families crowded in their windows or left the warmth of their houses to enjoy some socially distanced festive spirit and wave at Santa as his musical sleigh passed.
