If passed, Prop B would strip police of collective bargaining rights

San Antonio voters who are hoping to learn more about Proposition B will have the chance to hear both sides make their pitch Thursday at 7 p.m. during a debate hosted by KSAT, San Antonio Report and Bexar Facts.
Leaders of the San Antonio Police Officers Association (SAPOA) who oppose the proposition that would take away their collective bargaining rights and leaders of Fix SAPD the police reform group that organized the petition to get the proposition on the ballot will state their case to voters in the event live-streamed in the video player above.
The results of a newly released poll show that the fate of Prop B, a high-profile initiative that would strip San Antonio police of their collective bargaining power, looks to be a toss up with less than a month to go before the May 1 election.

`Misunderstood and hoping to shed toxic image, Brockhouse rides again in San Antonio mayoral contest

Bouncy like an athletic TED-talker, Greg Brockhouse is objectively handsome, with just the right amount of gray in his hair, often wearing jeans and his HOKA running shoes at campaign events along with T-shirts that yell, “GREG FOR MAYOR.”
Brockhouse also is one of San Antonio’s most divisive public figures. To challenge Mayor Ron Nirenberg in the May 1 election, he has rolled out a more reflective persona and some dense policy initiatives, but his campaign formula is still heavy on name-calling, conservative talking points and raw grievance.
