SAN ANTONIO – A kitten that was saved by San Antonio firefighters as it dodged traffic on a busy road will have its eight other lives to spend with a new, loving family after she gets cleared for adoption.
Lucia Almanza, public relations associate for the San Antonio Humane Society, said the 29-day-old feline was spotted at the intersection of Wurzbach Road and Interstate 10 on the Northwest Side.

SAN ANTONIO Just because Jadyn and Justyce Perez are twins doesn t mean they like the same things. But the love of animals is a strong common bond. We both like a lot of animals, Justyce said.
She loves peacocks, basketball, rice, hamburgers, volleyball and soccer. Jadyn, her older sister by one minute, is more of a dinosaur, pizza-loving, basketball and volleyball-playing gal.

SAN ANTONIO Litters of kittens are an all too familiar sight at the San Antonio Humane Society. We are in Texas so kitten season is year-round, we do see puppies, but mainly a lot of kittens, San Antonio Humane Society, Public Relations Associate, Alexis Castillo said.
The no-kill shelter relying heavily on volunteers to walk, socialize, or foster young litters of animals under their care. The need is huge right now., so we are in need of a lot of foster families, Castillo said.

SAN ANTONIO – You could consider them some of the youngest philanthropists in San Antonio. But for these 9-year-old twins, it’s all about the wagging tails and wet noses.
When you donate to the San Antonio Humane Society, sometimes you don’t get to meet who benefits from it. However, that’s not the case for twins Jadyn and Justyce Perez.
Since the age of four, the twins have been dropping off massive donations to SAHS of essential items.

SAN ANTONIO – They are the perfect pandemic partners, but some are still searching for a place to call home. San Antonio animal shelters saw a big increase in the number of adoptions over the course of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Area shelters hope to see that trend continue on National Adopt a Shelter Pet Day.
Lucia Almanza with the San Antonio Humane Society said the doors closed for a short time, but after they reopened the number of adoptions went up.
“It’s like they can sense that second chance so when they go home they just shower you with love and unconditional support,” she said.
