ALPINE
Ten farm animals were found dead under suspicious circumstances Friday morning at an Alpine property, and investigators are offering a reward and seeking tips to help lead them to the person or people responsible, sheriff’s officials said.
A niece of the property owner called authorities around 8 a.m. Friday to report the dead livestock inside an animal pen on the property, located along Peutz Valley Road just north of Interstate 8, sheriff’s Lt. Anthony O’Boyle said. The property owner was out of town at the time, and the niece was checking on and feeding the animals while he was away.
