Just a month after Allegiant announced it would be flying to airports serving Yellowstone and Glacier national parks, Alaska Airlines is following suit, with plans to launch seasonal service in late May.
Alaska, which has been rapidly expanding its routes in California, will begin flying May 20 to Kalispell, Mont., via Glacier Park International Airport and Bozeman, Mont.,
via Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport. The daily flights will be available through Sept. 7.
The announcement follows news last month that Allegiant would be flying to the two airports twice weekly for the summer season. Its routes are scheduled to operate through mid-August.

San Diego International Airport’s (SAN) Innovation Lab has announced the launch of a one-year programme, focusing on autonomous technology that enhances airport functions such as airside operations, terminal space operations, or intra-transit options.
The programme will allow companies with autonomous technology solutions to test and refine their products in a live environment.
The airport has stated that it will accept applications for solutions that have the potential to offer operational efficiency and logistics, and provide a positive passengers experience. Examples of technology accepted to the programme include autonomous pushback solutions, AI-based smart assistants, and autonomous transit options for moving passengers and staff throughout the airp
To keep travelers safe, San Diego International is taking extra precautions amid the pandemic.
“We have increased cleaning at high-frequency touch points, we have plexiglass screens at ticket counters, we have signage to encourage people to social distance,” Hall explained. “And also, in our seating, we have we have seat separators so people are not sitting within close distance of each other.”
Although air travel is down quite a bit compared to this time last year, things are starting to pick up at airports across the country. SAN DIEGO, CA Alaska Airlines launched its first nonstop flight from San Diego International Airport to Jackson Hole, Wyoming, on Thursday.
The winter seasonal service is offered daily, excluding Tuesdays and Wednesdays, until April 11. This is a new route and marks the first time San Diego International Airport has offered nonstop service to Wyoming.
