In Los Angeles, Nelson is charged with two counts of murder for allegedly shooting off-duty Los Angeles County sheriff s Deputy Joseph Gilbert Solano, 50, in Alhambra and 31-year-old Dmitry Alekseyevich Koltsov in downtown Los Angeles. The shootings occurred hours apart from each other on June 10, 2019.
Nelson a former St. George, Utah, resident is also charged with attempted murder and robbery for separate incidents in L.A. County.
In Stephan s letter, she wrote that her office agreed early last year to let the L.A. County district attorney prosecute Nelson for the San Diego County robberies with the understanding that he would face a maximum possible sentence of life imprisonment without the possibility of parole if convicted.

LOS ANGELES - The San Diego County District Attorney has sent newly-elected Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascón a scathing letter criticizing his policies as not in the interest of justice, and rescinding permission for Gascón to prosecute an accused Los Angeles cop killer’s San Diego armed robbery charges.
LA MESA (KUSI) – A La Mesa police officer who fired a beanbag round that struck a woman in the head during a protest at La Mesa police headquarters will not face criminal charges, the San Diego County District Attorney’s Office announced Wednesday.
The DA’s Office review concluded that Detective Eric Knudson used reasonable force “in light of the totality of circumstances” when he fired on 59-year-old Leslie Furcron, who attended a May 30 protest that happened less than a week after George Floyd’s in-custody death in Minneapolis and a few days after the controversial arrest of 23-year-old Amaurie Johnson in La Mesa.

A task force raid in October found evidence of an illegal gambling den, with 16 video gaming machines, about $1,700 in cash concealed in drywall, drugs and methamphetamine pipes, according to an FBI search warrant affidavit.
That same night, investigators busted another similar den, this one just blocks away operating in a unit behind a small house.
