One of the best decisions that Kevin Faulconer made while he was mayor of San Diego came last July, when he used his executive power to allow restaurants to put tables and chairs on adjacent parking spaces and sidewalks to allow for outdoor dining. This helped many restaurants stay in business during the pandemic and provided desperately needed mental health relief to San Diegans eager to safely get out of the house, eat and have some fun.
