Online Music Festival a Virtual Success

Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - The annual Southeast Region V Music Festival drew hundreds of student musicians for an event held online this year because of COVID-19 concerns.   Hosted by Sitka High School, the event included most high schools across Southeast and locations across the country, with more than 600 students submitting video presentations that their peers watched via Zoom video conferencing.   Sitka High School music director Mike Kernin said student participants attended virtual workshops with Grammy award winners and were adjudicated by professional composers and musicians.
