Exceptional care at Sando hospital Saturday 6 March 2021 THE EDITOR: Thanks to the San Fernando General Hospital for the professional care given to me during my pregnancy and delivery. Having been referred by my private doctor to the hospital due to complications with the pregnancy, I was a bit uncertain as to what to expect. However, from my first visit to the Maternal and Child Health Clinic to my subsequent stays on the Antenatal Ward each week, and finally my delivery and stay on the Postnatal Ward, I was well cared for beyond my expectations. The doctors, nurses and auxiliary staff were exceptional in their care and attention not just of me, but also the other patients. I salute their hard work and dedication. The SWRHA should be proud of them. Very often our public healthcare system is branded as second class but I beg to differ. The staff there works under immense stress and huge demands.
