Detectives conduct murder investigation in Rancho Cucamonga

Detectives are conducting a murder investigation after a Rancho Cucamonga man was found dead in his apartment, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department. On Dec. 12, deputies from the Rancho Cucamonga Station were called to a residence in the 11600 block of Church Street. The body of the victim, Mark Mondaine, 36, was discovered at the location by a family member. Deputies noted some suspicious circumstances at the scene and requested homicide detectives to conduct the investigation. Detectives determined that a family member spoke with Mondaine on the night of Dec. 11, and when the family member was unable to reach him following that conversation, the family member went to his apartment the next day.

A one-year-old boy was allegedly abused by a teenage girl in Fontana, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff s Department. On Dec. 6 at about 1 p.m., deputies from the Fontana Sheriff s Station received a call for service regarding several videos of a child being abused that were posted on a personal social media page. The videos revealed someone slapping a small child across the face and the child s head being bounced against a mattress several times. The investigation revealed that the suspect was identified as the victim s 14-year-old sibling and the incident took place in the 18000 block of Athol Avenue.

San Bernardino man suspected of kidnapping after theft of hairdryer in Apple Valley Victorville Daily Press A San Bernardino man faces several possible charges, including kidnapping, after authorities said he ordered a victim at gunpoint to drive him back to an Apple Valley store from which he had just shoplifted a hairdryer. Aaron Munoz, 28, was booked at the High Desert Detention Center in Adelanto on suspicion of kidnapping and possession of a controlled substance while armed, among other allegations. He remained in custody Friday afternoon in lieu of $250,000 bail, booking records showed. According to court records, Munoz faces felony charges of assault with a firearm, false imprisonment, and being a felon or addict in possession of a firearm. Misdemeanor charges include resisting a peace officer and shoplifting.
