Unidentified man shot and killed by Daly City police By KTVU staff article DALY CITY, Calif. - Daly City police shot and killed an unidentified man Wednesday afternoon, but offered few details about the shooting.  Officials said the shooting happened on the 700 block of Niantic Avenue near Westlake Ave. after an officer had contacted occupants of a vehicle at around 1:55 p.m. During the contact, an officer fired his weapon striking the man.  Police say officers rendered aid, and the man was taken to a local hospital where he died. The circumstances leading up to the shooting were not released. 

Woman charged for drunken driving in Highway 1 crash

The man who died in the crash was identified as 32-year-old Jesse Schouboe. Under clear and dry conditions, Schouboe, his 33-year-old wife and their dog were heading northbound in their 2010 Honda CRV on Highway 1, just south of Dehoff Canyon Road. Schouboe was in the passenger seat and his wife, a Half Moon Bay woman, was driving.  At around 7:35 p.m., authorities say Liana Felde was driving her 2010 Toyota Highlander southbound when she crossed the double yellow center divide line, smashing head-on into the Honda CRV. The Honda rolled over onto the passenger side, killing Schouboe and seriously injuring his wife and their dog.

(Photo courtesy of San Mateo Police) SAN MATEO, Calif. - A man suspected of a brutal rape and attempted murder 32 years ago was arrested Wednesday after investigators used DNA evidence to link him to the crime, according to San Mateo police officials. Officers arrested 55-year-old John Harris, Jr. in Manteca in San Joaquin County near his work and booked him into San Mateo County Jail on one charge of attempted premeditated murder and one charge of aggravated mayhem, both of which carry possible life sentences.

The investigation remains open, as police are concerned there may have been additional victims. San Mateo Police Department detectives and investigators from the San Mateo County District Attorney s Office arrested John Harris Jr., 55, in Manteca on Wednesday on charges of attempted murder, with other charges pending because of complications under the statute of limitations.
