Contact tracers ask covid-19 positive residents to isolate, call close contacts themselves

and last updated 2020-12-18 20:55:34-05 A surge in covid-19 cases has put a strain on the San Luis Obispo County Public Health Department s resources. Contact tracers are asking residents to stay home for at least 10 days if they test positive coronavirus. Health officials are working to contact all active cases and their close contacts, but resources are stretched beyond capacity because of the amount of new cases. If you test positive for covid, officials say self-isolate immediately and notify all your close contact of their need to quarantine too. When quarantine or isolation is over, residents can self-certify online rather than calling the Public Health Department.
