Businessman whetting appetites with super sauce

While many small business owners were struggling to make ends meet last year following the advent of the COVID-19 pandemic, one operator in the sauces and condiments department was still able to keep his head above water.
And as he gathers momentum, he has his eyes set on getting his products into every home across the island, Kemar Husbands, 25, is the proud owner of Husbandz, a three-year-old company that specializes in a variety of BBQ sauces.
He told
Today’s BUSINESS that last year was a difficult one for him when the pandemic started, but he quickly realised the demand for his product remained strong. This, he attributed to the fact that people were cooking more while at home and the fact that his sauces were simply a hit.
Daniel finds niche while offering job openings

After losing his job at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic last year and realising there were thousands of others who were in a similar position, Daniel DeSouza tapped into his creative juices to produce a solution to what had now become an overnight unemployment horror.
Charged with a passion for graphic design, web design and technology, he wasted no time in developing a one-stop-shop for people seeking employment and for those requiring a specific skill or task completed.
It was while doing some “odd jobs” throughout 2020 in the area of web design, that he came up with the idea for the online FreelanceForAll, a Caribbean freelance marketplace.
Association rowing on despite challenges

The one major issue facing the Rowing Association of Barbados (RAB)right now is finding a permanent home, says president Dr Anthony Yarde.
“The boats need to be stored in a space where they can get air. Right now we are storing them in a container and putting back more heat. We need to retrofit the container as a temporary space for the boats.
“Then we don’t have anywhere to put the gear or equipment. So we need to find space close to the beach where we can call home. That again proves to be a challenge,” Yarde told
