Public and Catholic school boards to hold virtual joint meeting on future of education

But the pandemic forced the cancellation of last years meeting. This year, the meeting between the Bruce-Grey Catholic District School Board and the Bluewater District School Board is going virtual. The Ministry of Education and the school boards will meet on Tuesday May 11th to consider new builds, renovations, the use of unoccupied school space and properties that may be considered for future sale.

The funding comes from the provincial and the federal government as part of the COVID-19 Reliance Infrastructure Stream of the Investing in Canada Infrastructure Program The funds will be used for retrofits, updates and upgrades to schools and co-located child care facilities, with projects including: HVAC renovations, water bottle refilling stations, and space reconfigurations. The distribution of funding per school board is as follows: Avon Maitland District School Board $2,974,509 Huron Perth Catholic District School Board $1,700,000
